Two of Rajasthan's most beloved pilgrimage sites — Shri Khatu Shyam Ji and Salasar Balaji — sit just 90 km apart. For devotees travelling from Jaipur, Delhi, or other cities, combining both temples in a single 2-day trip is not only possible but highly practical.

Thousands of families do this every month. Here is a complete 2-day itinerary that covers the route, timings, overnight stop, and food — so you can focus on the darshan and not on logistics.

Day 1: Jaipur → Khatu Shyam Ji → Laxmangarh

Morning: Depart Jaipur

Leave Jaipur by 6:00–7:00 AM. Take NH52 (Jaipur–Bikaner Highway) via Chomu and Sikar. Khatu Shyam Ji is approximately 80 km from Jaipur and sits just off NH52 — take the turn at Ringas or Reengus, about 18 km from the highway.

Drive time from Jaipur to Khatu Shyam Ji: approximately 2 hours.

Mid-Morning: Darshan at Khatu Shyam Ji

Khatu Shyam Ji temple opens at 5:30 AM. Arriving by 8:30–9:00 AM should mean manageable queues on weekdays. The darshan typically takes 30–90 minutes depending on crowds. Take your time in the temple complex — the atmosphere is uniquely peaceful.

What to do at Khatu Shyam Ji:

• Darshan at the main sanctum
• Purchase saffron-coloured prasad from authorised shops near the gate
• Visit the Shyam Kund (holy tank) adjacent to the temple

Afternoon: Drive to Laxmangarh

After completing the darshan and lunch in Khatu, drive back to NH52 and continue towards Laxmangarh. Distance from Khatu Shyam Ji to Laxmangarh: approximately 85–90 km via NH52, about 1.5 hours.

Check in at Mangalam Hotel & Restaurant in Laxmangarh for your overnight stay. The hotel is on NH52 Laxmangarh Bypass — easy to find and with ample parking for cars, SUVs, and buses.

Use the afternoon to rest, freshen up, and have a proper meal at the restaurant. The Dal Baati Churma and mixed veg Rajasthani thali are particularly recommended.

Evening

Relax at the hotel. If interested, take a short 10-minute drive to the Laxmangarh Fort — a beautiful Shekhawati-era structure with painted havelis nearby. Evening chaat and coffee at the hotel restaurant is a pleasant way to end the day.

Day 2: Laxmangarh → Salasar Balaji → Return

Early Morning: Depart for Salasar Balaji

Wake up by 4:00–4:30 AM. The restaurant serves chai, paratha, and light breakfast from 4 AM for early-departing pilgrims. Depart Laxmangarh by 4:30–5:00 AM.

Distance from Laxmangarh to Salasar Balaji: approximately 80–90 km via Fatehpur. Drive time: 1.5 hours. You will reach the temple by 6:00–6:30 AM.

Morning: Darshan at Salasar Balaji

Salasar Balaji opens at 5:30 AM. Arriving early means shorter queues and a calmer atmosphere. Collect Boondi ki Laadu (the signature prasad) from shops near the entrance.

After darshan, spend time in the temple town — there are good street food options for breakfast near the market.

Return Journey

Depending on your starting city:

• To Jaipur: From Salasar, take the route back via Fatehpur → Laxmangarh → Sikar → NH52 → Jaipur. Total ~245 km, about 4.5 hours
• To Delhi: From Salasar, you can drive via Jhunjhunu or retrace via Sikar and take NH52 towards Rewari–Delhi. Total ~380 km, about 6–7 hours
• To Bikaner: Continue on NH52 from Salasar direction; Bikaner is approximately 150 km from Salasar Balaji
